Policy, Planning and International Affairs Directorate

The Policy, Planning and International Affairs Directorate (PPIAD) provides leadership in developing and advancing the Branch's policy agenda, including:

• Policy development on horizontal issues of strategic importance,
• Policy research and environmental scanning, and
• Medium-term policy planning.

The Directorate also provides leadership on implementing the Branch's strategic planning process and assisting the Branch Executive Committee (BEC) in making it the basis for Branch decision-making on resource allocation, performance measurement and reporting, and communicating with government and stakeholders on strategic directions and performance plans and results. PPIAD supports the development of branch policy and planning capacity, and provides high quality and timely advice for the Assistant Deputy Minister and Branch Executive Committee on strategic policy and planning issues.
