April 7th is World Health Day.

Established by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1950, it is a day devoted to raising awareness on a particular health issue. Each year a theme is selected for World Health Day that highlights a priority area of concern for WHO.

World Health Day 2011 - Antimicrobial resistance: no action today, no cure tomorrow

This year World Health Day focused on antimicrobial resistance and its global spread.
