Title or working title of the regulatory initiative: Amendments to the Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations
Description of the objective:
Canada's requirements for cribs and cradles are among the most stringent in the world. Health Canada has, however, recently identified safety concerns associated with drop-side cribs. It is proposed that the Cribs, Cradles and Bassinets Regulations be amended to both enhance safety and further align Canada's safety requirements with those recently proposed in the United States.

Public consultation opportunities:
Canadians have already participated in consultations that occurred between September 29, 2010 and December 15, 2010.
It is anticipated that Canadians will have the opportunity to provide input during the Canada Gazette, Part I public comment period.
