Regulatory Initiative: Food Additives - Forward Regulatory Plan 2012-2014

Title or working title of the regulatory initiative: Food Additives

Description of the objective:
The Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act amended the Food and Drugs Act to provide new authorities to streamline the regulatory processes for food additives and other substances on or in food.  As such, new marketing authorizations (ministerial regulations) have been published in Canada Gazette that incorporates by reference 15 Lists of Permitted Food Additives.  Division 16 of the Food and Drug Regulations needs to be revised to reflect this including the repeal of the Tables of Food Additives.
