Title or working title of the regulatory initiative: Maximum Residue Limits (MRL) for Vet Drugs
Description of the objective:
The Jobs, Growth and Long-term Prosperity Act amended the Food and Drugs Act to provide new authorities to streamline the regulatory processes for food additives and other substances on or in food, including maximum residue limits for veterinary drugs. These new authorities which include "marketing authorizations" and "incorporation by reference" will create efficiencies by removing the listings from regulation and maintaining them administratively, so that changes can be made significantly more quickly and in a manner easily accessible to stakeholders and the public.
