Health Canada is involved in a number of bilateral and multilateral agreements and arrangements in different states with the purpose or intent to achieve defined objectives. Such agreements may be legally binding or not, depending on their nature.

Other terms used to describe agreements include accord, convention, declaration, final act, general act, pact and protocol. Other forms of agreements include letters of agreement, letters of intent, various types of memoranda and mutual recognition agreements.
