Community of Federal Regulators (CFR)

The Community of Federal Regulators (CFR) is a partnership of federal departments and agencies that facilitates collaboration and the professional development of employees involved in regulations across the federal government.

The CFR is championed by Health Canada's Deputy Minister and is housed in the department for that reason. The CFR provides valuable resources to advance regulatory excellence through the following four strategic activities:

  • CONVENING: Information exchange forums to showcase initiatives, share experiences and best practices.
  • CONNECTING: Communities of Practice and experts to share information and enable cooperation to advance common objectives.
  • CAPACITY BUILDING: by building and enhancing regulatory knowledge and skills through learning opportunities.
  • COMMUNICATION AND OUTREACH: through services and infrastructure that support the engagement of regulatory professionals and sharing of information.

Vision

A regulatory community Canadians trust to maintain and strengthen their health, safety, security and prosperity in a sustainable society.
