Minister Aglukkaq Announces Appointment to Hazardous Materials Information Review Commission

OTTAWA -Today, the Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health announced the appointment of Sandra Neale as the Governor (Employers) to the Hazardous Materials Information Review Commission (HMIRC).

"Mrs. Neale will be an important asset to the Hazardous Materials Information Review Commission," said Minister Aglukkaq. "I am confident that her extensive knowledge and expertise in environmental health and safety issues make her the ideal candidate to represent employers."

Mrs. Neale holds a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto, and joins HMIRC with more than 20 years experience in environmental health and safety programs support and implementation. Much of her career has been dedicated to the promotion and implementation of environmental health and safety programs to minimize exposures and reduce risks.

Currently the Global Industrial Hygiene and Product Stewardship Manager for GE Canada Home and Business Solutions, Mrs. Neale has occupied numerous health and safety occupations since joining the company in 1999. Responsibilities under her current position include leading a number of Industrial Hygiene programs and developing initiatives that support the core global GE requirements and expectations.
