News Release: Minister Aglukkaq Announces Appointments to Hazardous Materials Information Review Commission

Ms. Cara Benoit

Ms. Benoit has been working in the field of industrial hygiene for 17 years and is currently an industrial hygienist with the Worker's Safety and Compensation Commission in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Her experience includes work in hazardous materials abatement, surveys of industrial hygiene and mould remediation. Ms. Benoit has worked in residential housing, government and public buildings, oil and gas plans and other facilities.

Ms. Karen Clark

Ms. Clark has worked for more than 27 years with the Canadian Auto Worker's Union (CAW), and is currently the National Ergonomic Coordinator for General Motors at the CAW National Office. During this time, she also taught Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) at CAW. Ms. Clark's experience includes membership on the Human Resource and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) Labour Program working group; and within the Canadian Standards Association Z1004 General Workplace Ergonomics Technical Committee.

Ms. Shannon Coombs

Ms. Coombs, President of the Canadian Consumer Specialty Products Association (CCSPA), has been working with CCSPA since 1998. As President, she is the Association's spokesperson and is responsible for the implementation of effective government relations, regulatory strategies and public affairs on critical issues for member companies. Ms. Coombs is a member of the Government of Canada's Chemical Management Plan Stakeholder Advisory Council, and of Health Canada's Pest Management Advisory Council.
