Its spring and for many Canadians, garage sales are an annual ritual. It's a win, win situation, but with certain products, especially those intended for use by children, the savings may not be worth the risk. As a vendor, you are held legally responsible if caught selling or giving away items that fail to meet safety standards. Ensuring safety in garage sale transactions is a two-way street and buyers are also encouraged to use caution when buying second-hand items.
