Health Products and Food Branch Strategic Plan

The Health Products and Food Branch (HPFB) is committed to ensuring that Canadians have timely access to safe and effective health products, safe and nutritious food, and the information they need to make healthy choices. HPFB's Strategic Plan guides the work of the Branch in accomplishing these goals.

The Strategic Plan 2007-2012: Protecting and Promoting the Health and Safety of Canadians builds on the progress we made in our last strategic plan (see the HPFB Progress Report - Report on the 2004-2007 Strategic Plan) . It sets out six inter-related long-term strategies that will guide us over the next five years, enabling us to address increasingly complex challenges.

The Blueprint for Renewal II: Modernizing Canada's Regulatory System for Health Products and Food, released concurrently, completes our Strategic Plan by providing a longer term roadmap for transforming Canada's regulatory system so that it can meet the challenges and complexities of the future.
