Drawstrings
Children can be seriously injured or strangled by drawstrings on clothing. Drawstrings, especially on snowsuits, jackets and sweatshirts, can become caught on playground equipment, fences or other objects.
Safety Tips
- Remove all drawstrings from children's clothing, including hoods, shirts, hats and jackets.
- Tuck in all clothing that can get caught on playground equipment.
- Wear a neck warmer instead of a scarf.
- Always supervise children when they are playing.
- Teach children about the safe use of playground equipment.
