Balloons

Balloons add colour and create a festive atmosphere for any occasion. They should be used for decoration only and not for play.

Balloons pose a serious choking hazard to children of all ages. A balloon can block a child's airway if ingested or inhaled. This can result in the serious injury or death of a child. Deaths have occurred in children as old as 9 years.

Safety Tips

Adults should always inflate balloons.

  • Always keep un-inflated balloons or broken balloon pieces out of the reach of children.
  • Adults should always inflate balloons.
  • Supervise children when balloons are around.
