Meet Radar

Radar: Hi there! I'm Radar the safety dog. I'm the mascot for Health Canada's injury prevention programs. Pay close attention to my safety messages and I'll teach YOU how to Stay Safe!

If you see a product with one of these hazard symbols you should:

Stop! ... Do not touch.
Look! ... For the hazard symbol and
Stay Safe! ... Go get a grown-up. The grown-up will place the dangerous
product in a safe place.

Just remember... be happy and Stay Safe!

Hazard Symbol

Corrosive

Corrosive products will burn your skin or eyes if touched, or your throat and stomach, if swallowed.

Explosive

This container can explode if it's heated or broken. Flying pieces of metal or plastic can hurt you especially your eyes.

Flammable

Flammable products, or the fumes, will catch fire easily if near heat, flames or sparks.

Poison

Licking, eating, drinking, or even smelling poison can make you sick or die.

Radar: If you drink or even lick anything with this symbol you could become very sick or even die!

Radar: If you get something with the corrosive symbol onto your skin, it will burn your skin, or if you get some into your eyes, you may go blind.If swallowed, it will damage your throat and stomach.

Flammable: Flammable means fire!
This stuff burns hot!
Keep me where it's cool
In a nice high spot!
Stay Safe!

Radar: If you can see this symbol (insert character here) on a can or a bottle, it tells you that the stuff inside (or its fumes) will catch fire easily if it is near hear, flames, or sparks.

Radar: We find this symbol on cans of spray paint or oven cleaners... just about every can that goes "psssst"..! If you put cans like that near a heater or stove, they could go "boom".. and explode!
