The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) invites the public to submit written comments on Regulatory Proposal PRO2016-03, Essential Oil-based Personal Insect Repellents (EOPIR). This proposal is being distributed for information and comments on proposed regulatory requirements for the assessment of risk to human health for a specific type of non-conventional pest control product, essential oil-based personal insect repellents (EOPIR). The PMRA will accept written comments from the public on this proposal for up to 60 days from the date of publication of this document.

Health Canada will make the results of this consultation available on this website. Once the decision on Regulatory Proposal PRO2016-03, Essential Oil-based Personal Insect Repellents (EOPIR) is finalized, the PMRA will post a decision on the Pesticides and Pest Management Reports and Publications portion of Health Canada’s website.
