You may have heard reports in the news about bedbugs infesting everything from five-star hotels to buses and homes. Some cities have been more affected than others, but everyone needs to be aware of the problem and how to prevent it.

Provincial and municipal public health officers are responsible for local health issues. They can provide you with the latest information you need if you find you have bedbugs. Health Canada's role is to evaluate risks of pesticide products to human health and the environment before allowing these products to be used in Canada. The department only approves pest control products that meet its standard for human health and environmental protection.
