Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development Report: The Pest Management Regulatory Agency has improved the management of pesticides

The Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development (CESD) published an audit on March 6th, 2008 called "Selected Aspects of Managing the Safety and Accessibility of Pesticides". The 2008 status report follows up on the government's progress in addressing the issues identifed in the CESD's 2003 report.

The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) is pleased with the CESD's recent findings that the federal government has improved the management of pesticides. The CESD concludes that the PMRA consistently applies its procedures for evaluating the risks of pesticides, and has taken action to give Canadian growers access to new and minor-use pesticides.
