Under the authority of the Pest Control Products Act, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has added new uses to the product label of Blazer Herbicide, containing technical grade sodium acifluorfen, for soybeans grown in Western Canada. The specific uses approved in Canada are detailed on the label of Blazer Herbicide, Pest Control Products Act Registration Number 23315.

A corresponding maximum residue limit (MRL) was proposed in the consultation document published on 7 August 2007, Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2007 09, Sodium Acifluorfen. The PMRA received no comments in response to this consultation.

To comply with Canada's international trade obligations, consultation on the proposed MRL was also conducted internationally by notifying the World Trade Organization, as coordinated by the Standards Council of Canada. No comments were received as a result of the World Trade Organization consultation.

The following MRL is legally in effect as of the publication date of this document.
