Under the authority of the
Pest Control Products Act, Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has established a maximum residue limit (MRL) for deltamethrin in or on olives to permit the import and sale of foods containing such residues.
A corresponding MRL was proposed in the consultation document published on 25 March 2010, Proposed Maximum Residue Limit PMRL2010-25, Deltamethrin. The PMRA received no comments in response to this consultation.
To comply with Canada's international trade obligations, consultation on the proposed MRL was also conducted internationally by notifying the
World Trade Organization, as coordinated by the
Standards Council of Canada. No comments were received as a result of the World Trade Organization consultation.
The following MRL for deltamethrin takes legal effect as of the publication date of this document.
| Common Name | Residue Definition | MRL (ppm) | Food Commodity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deltamethrin | cyclopropanecarboxylic acid, 3-(2,2-dibromoethenyl)-2,2-dimethyl-, (S)-cyano(3-phenoxyphenyl)methyl ester, (1R,3R)-, including the isomers trans-deltamethrin; cyclopropanecarboxylic acid, 3-(2,2-dibromoethenyl)- 2,2-dimethyl-, (S)-cyano(3-phenoxyphenyl)methyl ester, (1R,3S)- and αR-deltamethrin; cyclopropanecarboxylic acid, 3-(2,2-dibromoethenyl)-2,2-dimethyl-, (R)-cyano(3-phenoxyphenyl)methyl ester, (1R,3R)- |
1.0 | Olives |
A complete list of all MRLs established in Canada can be found on the Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticides webpage in the Pesticides and Pest Management section of Health Canada's website.
