Summary

The purpose of this document is to notify registrants, pesticide regulatory officials and the Canadian public that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has released, for public comment, a proposed risk mitigation decision for nine rodenticides (brodifacoum, bromadiolone, difethialone, chlorophacinone, diphacinone, warfarin, zinc phosphide, bromethalin and cholecalciferol). The PMRA is considering including similar mitigation measures as part of an overall mitigation strategy for these nine rodenticides in Canada. Furthermore, the PMRA considers such measures may be applicable for new active ingredients when risk-mitigation measures are required. As a result, the PMRA invites and encourages the public and all interested parties to provide comments on the proposed risk-mitigation measures. The PMRA will accept written comments on this proposal up to 45 days from the date of publication of this document.
