We are pleased to inform you that Health Canada has finalized the guidance document entitled "Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Guidelines - 2009 Edition (GUI-0001)", which is available on Health Canada's Compliance and Enforcement website under "What's New". Implementation of the guidelines came into effect on November 8, 2009.

In order to inform stakeholders of changes, new requirements, and to answer their questions, Health Canada will be delivering information sessions in the following six (6) Canadian cities: Halifax, Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary, and Vancouver. The sessions are planned for the end of April and throughout May. Each session will be a day-and-a-half long (1.5 days), with the exception of Halifax, which will be one (1) day. Two sessions will be offered in Toronto and in Montreal, and depending on interest, a bilingual or a French session will be held in Montreal. Refer to the below table regarding the dates of the sessions.

You are invited to register for one of our no-fee Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) / Establishment Licence (EL) Information Sessions. During these sessions, Drug Establishment Licence (DEL) holders will be provided with updates on several guidance documents pertaining to GMP and EL, including but not limited to, the main guidance document on GMP, associated GMP Annexes, guidance on GMP compliance of foreign sites, and the main guidance on Drug EL.

How to Get Involved

If you are interested in attending a session, please e-mail the Registration Form using the contact information in the below table.

Please note that, due to venue size restrictions, initially we are limiting the number of representatives per licensed establishment to two. After initial registration, organizations/representatives will be contacted if additional spaces are available. Offers of further representatives will be prioritized base on the date the Registration Form is received. Once you have registered for a session, more information will be provided via e-mail regarding the venue and agenda.
