Cost Recovery Framework: Consultation

Part 6 - Next Steps

Stakeholders are encouraged to provide feedback on all aspects of this consultation paper so that HPFB's Cost Recovery Framework takes into consideration the views of our full range of stakeholders. An updated Cost Recovery Framework, developed with the participation of stakeholders, is key to ensuring Health Canada remains a credible, responsible and respected leader in health products regulation.

A report on this consultation will be made available shortly after the closing date, along with a revised Cost Recovery Framework including the fees and service standards. At this stage, a formal complaints process will be available.

The input and advice obtained through this consultation and the corresponding Business Impact Test will be used to develop a regulatory amendment proposal. The revised Cost Recovery Framework will be submitted to Parliament and will follow the established review process. The implementation of proposed new and revised fees is scheduled for April 2008.
