Lead

Lead is a soft metal and has been widely used in the building materials industry, and although we have been using lead for thousands of years, its effect on human health is well known. It can accumulate in human bones and organs and it has been linked to anemia and a variety of developmental disorders. Lead may be present in house dust, in airborne particulate matter, and in older lead-based paints and materials tracked in from the outside.
