Public Registry

The Public Registry of Health Canada is designed to facilitate public participation in the environmental assessment process. It contains information about all environmental assessment projects in which Health Canada was the responsible federal department for conducting environmental assessments.

As with all other federal departments and agencies, Health Canada must conduct an environmental assessment of its projects if one of the following criteria is met:

  1. it is the project proponent;
  2. it is providing financial assistance for the project (this can include contribution agreements);
  3. it grants an interest in land which enables a project to be carried out; (that is, sells, leases or otherwise transfers control of land);
