About the Campaign

The environment has a significant impact on the health of Canadians. It is important that we all become more aware of how the environment is affecting our health and that we work together to protect our health from environmental hazards.

The Canadian government plays a key role in reducing risks to our health. For example, through the Chemicals Management Plan and Clean Air Agenda.

The Government of Canada has taken another step to reduce environmental health risks with the launch of the Hazardcheck guide and public education campaign.  This is a four year campaign designed to raise awareness of the health risks that exist in our everyday lives, and provides advice on simple actions that Canadians can take to minimize their exposure to environmental hazards.

You can get a copy of the guide from Health Canada publications or view the information online. Supplementary information by population is also available for additional reading.
