EAS can also provide training for your employees in the areas of emergency preparedness and response as well as on site post-incident interventions. Some of these services can be included in your organization's EAP coverage.

EAS has developed a method of critical incident stress service delivery specifically for nurses working within First Nations communities. This service model was developed to meet the needs of nurses working in rural and often isolated communities. Based on a modified Mitchell Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) Model of intervention, our services include pre-incident education, health and safety recommendations to prevent or reduce the impact of traumatic events; timely assessments; and coordination of interventions for nurses involved in critical incidents. CISM services can assist nurses to increase personal resiliency. Our CISM services have enabled nursing professionals to remain on the job and to continue to function effectively in their workplace.
An interactive CISM orientation is available to nurses working with Health Canada's First Nations and Inuit Health Branch (FNIHB) via a tab on the Canadian Nurses' Association
NurseOne Portal site. To register for access to the FNIHB tab, send your request to ONS_FNIH_Port@hc-sc.gc.ca
