Restriction:

By virtue of its inclusion as Item 24 in Part II of Schedule I to the Hazardous Products Act (HPA):

charcoal for use in domestic cooking or heating

is a restricted product that cannot be advertised, sold or imported except as authorized by the Hazardous Products (Charcoal) Regulations.

Exemption:

By virtue of paragraph 12(f) of the HPA,

charcoal for use in domestic cooking or heating

is exempt from the [WHMIS] supplier labelling and MSDS requirements set out in Part II of the HPA if"packaged as a consumer product".
