Notice to Readers

Pesticidal uses of chromium were not assessed in this report. The pesticide chromic acid is subject to the provisions of the Pest Control Products Act, and its regulatory status as a heavy-duty wood preservative is currently being re-evaluated (see Announcement A92-02: "Reevaluation of Heavy Duty Wood Preservatives", Agriculture Canada, Food Production and Inspection Branch, July 2, 1992). As part of the pesticide re-evaluation process, Environment Canada and Health Canada will assess the potential effects on the environment and on human health resulting from these pesticidal uses of chromium.
