Third-party, independent peer review of Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) has become a routine part of the process regarding the assessment of health risks posed by contaminated sites. The purpose of this checklist is to provide a structured and consistent framework for undertaking such peer reviews. This checklist is intended to complement and to be completed with reference to Health Canada's guidance document on the conduct of HHRA in Canada as well as other Health Canada guidance documents.

The Federal Contaminated Sites Action Plan is a program of the Government of Canada designed to ensure improved and continuing federal environmental stewardship as it relates to contaminated sites located on federally owned or operated properties.
