This presentation provides an overview of Health Impact Assessment (HIA) as well as discussing the importance of health indicators and the determinants of health. This presentation also serves to introduce the first three HIA Handbooks and the areas that are covered by each. Lastly, this presentation also shows how Health Impact Assessment (HIA) and determinants of health can be applied to specific development projects, using the BHP Diamonds Project as an example.
