Guidelines for Novel Fibre Sources

• Safety and Physiological Effects of Novel Fibre Sources (Guideline No. 9) - This Guideline describes the safety and physiological efficacy information required in order for a manufacturer to represent a new product as a dietary fibre source.
• Dietary Fibre and Novel Fibre in Guide to Food Labelling and Advertising 6.8.1 - Dietary fibre and novel fibre sources for which Health Canada has issued a letter of no objection are listed in the CFIA Guide to Food Labelling and Advertising (2003), along with the labelling requirements for each fibre source.
