Nutrient Databases Without Borders

An exciting program is being planned with prominent food and nutrition professionals from around the globe in attendance.  Various academic, government and research facilities throughout the US host the National Nutrient Databank Conference (NNDC) annually.  It provides a forum where collaborations in generating food composition data can be shared and food and nutrient database expansion and application can be explored to serve the needs of industry and research. This year is the first time the NNDC will be hosted outside of the US and is a great occasion to both familiarize health professionals with the issues surrounding the generation and use of nutrient data, as well as a chance for Canadian researchers to present unique aspects of this field.
