Members of the Sodium Working Group

The Sodium Working Group, is a multi-stakeholder working group that includes representatives from food manufacturing and food service industry groups, health-focused non-governmental organizations, the scientific community, consumer advocacy groups, health professional organizations and government.

The establishment of the Sodium Working Group to develop a population health strategy for reducing sodium intake among Canadians was announced by the Minister of Health on October 25, 2007.

As part of Health Canada's selection process, the Working Group members were asked to declare their areas of expertise, affiliations and interests. This summary has been provided as part of Health Products and Food Branch's commitment to be transparent about the membership of its advisory bodies.
