1. Application

The following information is offered as a supplement to Method MFLP-75, dated June 2004, and must be used with this method. The purpose of this supplement is to provide additional information (such as source(s) of materials, critical steps, confirmation steps, or helpful hints etc.).

7.3 Sample Analysis

7.3.5 Animal feeds or feed ingredients

Equilibrate the 25 g, 100 g (or sample weight) to maintain a 1:10 final dilution, in 2 volumes of NB or BPW for 1 h at 35°C. Add another 7 volumes of pre-enrichment broth and stomach.

7.3.6 Environmental samples (dry samples, dust, etc. or swatches)

Follow MFLP-41B (Table 2): add NB or BPW at 100 mL/unit (sponge) or 10 mL/unit (swabs). Incubate at 35°C for 18-24 h.
