Progress and Remaining Challenges

Health Canada's Tobacco Control Programme invites stakeholders engaged in tobacco control issues in Canada to share their views concerning the second phase of the Federal Tobacco Control Strategy (FTCS).

The FTCS is now approaching the midpoint of its planned ten-year duration (2001- 11). The first phase of the Strategy has been successful in reaching many of the established targets. Over 2006-2007, Health Canada's Tobacco Control Programme has undertaken a process to update the objectives and targets of the Strategy. As input from stakeholders is an important part of this process, opinions and suggestions would be appreciated.
