As part of the Government's comprehensive approach to addressing prescription drug abuse, Health Canada is consulting with Canadians on proposed regulations, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act that would require that drugs at high risk for abuse, like controlled-release oxycodone, have tamper-resistant properties before they can be sold in Canada. The attached Next link will take you to another Web site Notice to Interested Parties provides background on the issue of prescription drug abuse as well as an outline of the proposed regulation.
