Description
In partnership with Brandon School Division, Brandon Police Services, Addictions Foundation of Manitoba, Brandon Regional Health Authority, City of Brandon, Community and Youth Correctional Services, Brandon Ministerial Association, Child and Family Service of South West Manitoba, Teen Challenge, Child and Adolescent Treatment Centre, the three year coalition will implement 30 strategies within its prevention and mobilization plan through training programs and workshops for youth aimed at preventing illicit drug initiation, demand, dependency and increase illicit drug awareness amongst youth and parents.

Description
The Balcarres Community School, in partnership with Star Blanket First Nation, Little Black Bear First Nation, File Hills Police, File Hills Community Health Services, and Regina Qu'Appelle Health Authority will raise awareness of the dangers of the use of illicit drugs and other substances through engaging youth and parents. The 26-month project's activities include: hosting a wellness workshop; developing a student and parent plan, which includes Drug Awareness Week activities; a student conference; and the development of resources as identified in the student action plan. In addition, the school will establish a wellness resource centre for students, parents and community members.

Description
The Moose Jaw South Central Drug Strategy Steering Committee is comprised of the following partner organizations: Five Hills Health Region; Moose Jaw City Police; Ministry of Corrections and Public Safety; City of Moose Jaw; Holy Trinity Roman Catholic School Division; Ministry of Social Services; Metis Local; Saskatchewan Institute of Arts Sciences and Technologies; John Howard Society; Canadian Mental Health Association; Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP); Military Family Services Program; Connecting as Neighbours Cooperative; Moose Jaw YMCA; Chamber of Commerce; Badlands Recreation Association; and South Country Recreation Association. The objectives of the three year project are to: prevent illicit drug use among youth; increase youth engagement; promote participation of healthy lifestyles among youth; ensure that a range of programs are available and accessible; ensure infrastructures that are required are in place; improve relationships among youth, adults and community; and increase the level of leadership and skills among youth.

This two-year Sunrise Health Region project, in partnership with Good Spirit School Division, Christ the Teacher Catholic School Division and Town of Langenburg, will: increase the number of developmental assets which promote positive behaviours among youth in the communities; improve recreational and non-threatening opportunities and environments for young people; improve relationships between adults and youth; and, encourage young people to be involved in the community in a positive way.
