Description
Partnering with Hay River Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Hay River Health and Social Services, Hay River Public Health, Community Justice, Parent Action Committee, K'atlodeeche First Nation Reserve, Town of Hay River, and Soaring Eagle Friendship Centre, the objectives of this 13-month project are: to reduce the negative impacts that illicit drug abuse has on Hay River's youth, families and community; to promote cross-sectorial collaboration in addressing current issues with youth resiliency; and bring the community together to coordinate services and provide a healthy, supportive environment in which to live and learn.

Description
The Family Wellness Program, a 27-month project, is sponsored by Tr'ondek Hwech'in First Nation (a self governing Yukon First Nation), in partnership with Tr'ondëk Hwëch'in First Nation Heritage Department, the Dawson Shelter Society, and a number of territorial government departments. This project will: equip youth and families with information, tools, skills, and the support required to prevent youth from engaging in illicit drug use; promote awareness of the negative impacts of drug use; promote resiliency in youth and families assisting them in recovery if impacts of drug use have occurred; promote education, awareness and healthy decision making around drug use; and develop self assessment and personal goal setting skills for application in the prevention of drug use.

Description
Partnering with Sapujijjit Justice Committee, Department of Health and Social Services, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Hunters and Trappers Association, and Elders Society, this four month project will: provide youth with an opportunity to participate in constructive activities and expend their energy in a positive, drug-free environment; lead youth to the realization that they can participate in activities that result in a natural rush of adrenaline; empower youth by building capacity required to make positive lifestyle choices and decisions to be drug free; provide a forum for youth to share their positive drug free experiences with their peers and community as a whole; increase awareness among youth of the risks and consequences associated with illicit drug use and substance abuse; and provide strong role modelling and support for youth involved in the program.
