2009-2010 Drug Strategy Community Initiatives Fund (DSCIF) Call for Proposals - Manitoba and Saskatchewan

Within the context of the DSCIF funding streams and priorities, the Manitoba and Saskatchewan Region will place priority on projects that will be innovative, demonstrate meaningful inclusion of the population for which the project is designed to effect and have a strong partnership component.

Preference will be given to projects that address one or more of the following Regional Priorities focussed on prevention of illicit drug use by population aged 10-24 years.

  • Youth and family skills building and strategies to effect informed decision making in the prevention of illicit drug use
  • Strategies that address prevention of illicit drug use by youth in rural settings
  • Strategies that address the prevention of illicit drug use in party settings
  • Youth focused models that explore prevention of illicit drug use and mental health
  • Engagement of First Nations (off reserve) or Metis communities in addressing the prevention of illicit drug use by youth off reserve

Low priority will be given to one time events and pre-packaged programs.

Proposals will be accepted until September 30, 2009 for projects with a planned start date of April 2010.
