The Drug Analysis Service (DAS) operates laboratories across Canada that are employed to analyze suspected illegal drugs seized by Canadian police forces and the Canada Border Services Agency. The laboratories receive over 110,000 samples per year, confirming the identity and in some cases the purity of the controlled substances seized by police. The samples and analyses are often used as evidence in Canadian courts.
