With all of your preparations, you are now ready to take the last step. Before you do, take some time to review what you have learned and to clear the road ahead. The following suggestions can help you feel positive about your decision, and reinforce your confidence in your ability to follow through.
Make time today, preferably this evening, to review all that you have learned about how to quit. Review your strategies for changing your routines. Review your strategies for coping with withdrawal. Remind your family, co-workers and friends that you are quitting.
Before you go to bed, throw out your cigarettes, your lighters and ashtrays. As you go to bed, remind yourself that when you wake up, you will no longer be a smoker. You have the knowledge, skills and determination to make it through the first days, and the first weeks. You will be on your way to a better, longer and stronger life.
