Project: Canadian Infectious Disease Society: Internet Site

Health Infostructure Support Program

Background

The Internet has allowed an increase in the volume of medical information available to the community. The information can be helpful and educational to patients but its value depends on the credibility of both the source and the material itself. The Canadian Infectious Disease Society has the mandate to increase awareness and education about infectious diseases. It will establish a network devoted to infectious diseases to address the need among health care workers, physicians and patients for valid information on infectious diseases.

Project Description

To develop a technically advanced, web site as the primary resource for information on the prevention, diagnosis and management of infectious diseases. The project will provide an innovative approach to presenting information to health care workers, physicians and patients.

Project Funding under HISP: $67,000.00

Project Management: Canadian Infectious Disease Society
