Assisted Human Reproduction

This section provides information about assisted human reproduction (AHR) and the federal government's work to date in this area. Federal responsibility for assisted human reproduction is shared by Health Canada and Assisted Human Reproduction Canada. Both organizations are under the authority of the Minister of Health.

Health Canada is responsible for developing policy and regulations under the Assisted Human Reproduction Act.

Assisted Human Reproduction Canada (AHRC) is responsible for administering and enforcing the Act and its regulations.
