Diseases and Health Conditions

One of Health Canada's mandates is to reduce the incidence of disease, conditions and personal injuries. Our scientists support this work by performing research and monitoring of health conditions such as AIDS, West Nile virus, diabetes, heart disease and cancer.

They provide up-to-date surveillance and statistics to various levels of government and public officials, while evaluating the prevention and control programs currently in place.
