Why we partner
The 2008 Health Canada Science and Technology Strategy identified science and technology (S&T) partnerships as an enabler of the department's science and research activities. These collaborations facilitate the department's ability to access the external scientific evidence it needs to fulfill its regulatory, program and policy mandates. In addition, partnerships:
- support the exchange of information between the department and external stakeholders on scientific developments, emerging trends, and technologies in support of improved health outcomes for Canadians;
- enhances the Department's ability to manage horizontal science issues (e.g., risk assessment and communication); and
- enables the sharing of expertise and best practices, the pooling of resources, etc.
